Foundational Mathematics: Arithmetic, Geometry, and Basic Algebra

Many learners struggle when transitioning from basic arithmetic to more complex mathematical structures. This course provides a solid foundation in the core concepts necessary for advancement. By the end of this course, you will possess a strong conceptual understanding of whole numbers, integers, fractions, decimals, and fundamental geometric principles, enabling you to tackle complex word problems and basic algebraic expressions with confidence. What you'll learn: * Understand the structure and properties of whole numbers, integers, and rational numbers. * Apply operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to fractions and decimals accurately. * Master the concepts of ratio, proportion, and unit conversion for real-world applications. * Practice identifying and calculating perimeter, area, and volume for common 2D and 3D shapes. * Learn to translate word problems into simple linear equations using variables and expressions (basic algebra). * Configure and interpret basic data handling techniques, including mean, median, mode, and simple bar graphs. The material begins with an exploration of number systems and their properties, progressing through arithmetic operations on various number types, and concluding with introductions to geometry, mensuration, and structured problem-solving. This course is designed exclusively for absolute beginners or anyone seeking to refresh their knowledge of foundational mathematics before moving into pre-algebra or computational studies. No prior mathematical knowledge beyond basic counting is required. Start building your essential mathematical toolkit today.
