Foundations of Plant Biology: Photosynthesis & Water Transport

Ever wondered how plants convert sunlight into energy or absorb water against gravity? This course demystifies the essential biological processes that sustain plant life on Earth. By the end of this course, you will possess a solid foundational understanding of plant physiology, enabling you to explain how plants grow, respond to their environment, and contribute to ecosystems. What you'll learn: * Understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind water and mineral absorption by roots. * Learn the detailed stages of photosynthesis, including energy conversion and carbon fixation. * Grasp the process of transpiration, its regulatory factors, and its critical role in plant water transport. * Analyze how environmental conditions like light, temperature, and humidity impact plant physiological functions. * Apply foundational biological concepts to interpret plant responses and adaptations. This course begins with fundamental biological terminology and basic concepts, then systematically explores water absorption, transpiration, and photosynthesis, building your knowledge step by step. This course is designed for absolute beginners with no prior biology knowledge, as well as those seeking to refresh or solidify their understanding of plant biology fundamentals. Start your journey into the fascinating world of plant life today.
