Foundations of Universe and Earth Geography

Have you ever wondered about the vastness of the cosmos or the deep history hidden beneath your feet? Understanding the fundamental principles of geography begins with exploring the origins of everything around us. This course provides a foundational understanding of the universe and our home planet. You will gain clarity on cosmic evolution, Earth's formation, and the dynamic processes that shape its surface and interior, equipping you with essential knowledge for further geographical study. What you'll learn: * Understand the prevailing theories about the origin and evolution of the universe. * Learn about the formation of our solar system and the early history of Earth. * Explore Earth's internal structure, composition, and the forces driving plate tectonics. * Grasp the concept of geological timescales and the major milestones in Earth's history. * Analyze the fundamental components of Earth's atmosphere, oceans, and climate systems. * Practice applying foundational geographical concepts through guided written exercises. The course begins with an exploration of cosmic origins, moving through the formation of our solar system, and then delves into Earth's intricate structure, dynamic processes, and environmental systems. Each section builds upon foundational knowledge, progressing from theoretical concepts to observable phenomena. This course is designed for absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of geography, cosmology, or earth sciences. It serves as an ideal starting point for anyone curious about our planet and the universe. Embark on a journey to understand the fundamental forces that shaped our world.
