Geography Optional Paper I: Geomorphology Foundations

Geomorphology is the cornerstone of physical geography, yet mastering its complex theories and landform processes can feel overwhelming. This comprehensive, text-based course simplifies advanced concepts, helping you build a structured framework to analyze the Earth's surface features with academic precision. You will transition from understanding basic geological forces to writing sophisticated, structured analyses of complex landforms. Learn the foundational theories of continental drift, plate tectonics, and isostasy; analyze endogenetic and exogenetic forces shaping the Earth; master the cycle of erosion models by Davis and Penck; evaluate karst, arid, glacial, and coastal landform development; and apply modern geomorphic concepts to environmental hazard management. We begin with essential terminology and core geological principles before systematically exploring complex landscape evolution models. This course is designed specifically for beginners starting their advanced geography preparation, requiring no prior background in the subject. Start building your systematic understanding of geomorphology today.
