Through a descriptive methodology, documentary review and observation, the main limitations are identified: lack of specialized laboratories, obsolete equipment, insufficient connectivity and lack of articulation with the regional health reality. The results show that these deficiencies directly affect the acquisition of practical skills and the ability to respond to local health problems, especially in a mining and high-altitude context. It is concluded that it is necessary to implement investment plans, agreements with health centers and curricular adjustments to strengthen the career and contribute effectively to regional development. RESUMEN Título: Evaluación de las condiciones de infraestructura, equipamiento y acceso a tecnologías biomédicas en la Universidad Nacional Siglo XX: impacto en la calidad formativa y proyección en el norte de Potosí La presente investigación analiza la situación actual de la carrera de Ingeniería Biomédica de la Universidad Nacional Siglo XX (UNSXX), centrándose en la infraestructura, el equipamiento disponible, los recursos tecnológicos y su relación con la calidad de la formación profesional. Mediante una metodología descriptiva, revisión documental y observación directa, se identifican las principales limitaciones: falta de laboratorios especializados, equipos obsoletos o insuficientes, conectividad deficiente y escasa articulación con la realidad sanitaria regional. Los resultados demuestran que estas carencias afectan directamente la adquisición de competencias prácticas y la capacidad de responder a problemáticas locales de salud, especialmente en un contexto minero y de altura. Se concluye que es necesario implementar planes de inversión, convenios con centros de salud y ajustes curriculares para fortalecer la carrera y contribuir efectivamente al desarrollo regional. INTRODUCCIÓN La Ingeniería Biomédica es una disciplina que integra conocimientos de ingeniería, biología y medicina, orientada al diseño, desarrollo, mantenimiento y gestión de tecnologías, equipos y sistemas aplicados a la salud. Su importancia radica en que permite mejorar la calidad de la atención sanitaria, optimizar recursos y dar soluciones técnicas a problemas específicos de cada región. En Bolivia, esta carrera es relativamente joven y su implementación en universidades públicas ha sido desigual, enfrentando retos particulares según la zona geográfica, económica y social. La Universidad Nacional Siglo XX, con sede en Llallagua, norte de Potosí, nace vinculada históricamente a la realidad minera y a las necesidades de una población asentada en el altiplano, con condiciones geográficas y climáticas difíciles, y problemáticas de salud propias de la actividad extractiva (enfermedades respiratorias, laborales, de altura, entre otras).
