About this course
Identifying a money script and drafting a replacement belief is a beginning, not an endpoint. Old financial narratives are deeply ingrained, often reinforced for decades, and tend to resurface under stress or at major life transitions. Sustaining the shift from a limiting money script to a more empowering one requires deliberate, ongoing practice. This course addresses what that looks like over the long run.
By the end of this course you will be able to design a personal practice for reinforcing alternative financial beliefs, identify the conditions under which old money scripts re-emerge and build strategies to respond, integrate belief work with practical financial behavior change, and evaluate your progress over time with honest reflection rather than self-judgment.
What you will learn:
- How belief change actually works over time: the neuroscience of re-patterning and why it requires repetition, not just insight
- How to design a personal practice for reinforcing new money beliefs using journaling, affirmation, and behavioral experiments
- How stress and major life events reliably trigger old money scripts โ and how to build a recovery plan for those moments
- How to connect a reframed belief to a specific new financial behavior and track both together
- How to work with a partner or trusted person on money beliefs without creating blame or conflict
- How major life transitions โ career change, divorce, inheritance, retirement โ surface and sometimes update long-held money scripts
- How to use periodic long-term review to assess whether your financial beliefs are still serving you
- Building a personal money belief evolution log: a running record of how your relationship with money changes over time
The course uses longitudinal case studies following individuals over 5-year periods as they work to sustain belief changes through professional and personal transitions. Reflection prompts connect the cases to your own situation. A long-term money belief practice template and a recovery plan worksheet are included.
Designed for adults who have begun to examine their money scripts and want a sustainable, long-term approach to reinforcing new patterns. Suitable for those who are new to this kind of sustained inner work around finances. This course is educational and does not substitute for financial therapy or licensed mental health support; if significant financial distress or trauma is present, working with a qualified therapist is recommended.
