Astronomy Fundamentals: Exploring the Cosmos

Understanding the universe begins with mastering the fundamental principles of astrophysics and observational science. This course provides a structured introduction to how astronomers observe, measure, and analyze celestial bodies across the cosmos. You will gain a strong grounding in core astronomical concepts, progressing from basic planetary mechanics to modern astrophysical discoveries. What you'll learn: - Understand key terminology, celestial coordinate systems, and orbital mechanics - Learn the physics of stars, stellar life cycles, and nucleosynthesis - Explore the architecture of our Solar System and the methods used to detect exoplanets - Examine modern observational tools, electromagnetic spectroscopy, and space telescope technology - Analyze galactic structures, dark matter fundamentals, and modern cosmological models The course begins with foundational vocabulary and historical principles of celestial navigation before walking through modern astrophysics and observational techniques. This course is designed for beginners, science students, and curious stargazers with no prior background in advanced mathematics or physics. Start your journey into modern astronomy and explore the workings of our universe today.
